According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the situation required active measures by the air defense forces: several groups of reconnaissance drones and strike UAVs were detected moving in the region, causing increased tension among local residents and military personnel. As reported by the Kyiv OVA, around 00:23 an air alert was declared, signaling the activation of regional defense forces. Official sources indicate that several groups of Russian drones, including "Shaheds," were moving from the northern part of Poltava Oblast and the south of Chernihiv region. Their course was directed toward the Ukrainian capital, highlighting the systematic attempts by Russian troops to strike strategic targets and civilian infrastructure in Kyiv and the surrounding areas. The source states that the air defense forces responded coordinatedly to these threats. Throughout the night, military personnel employed anti-aircraft systems to intercept and destroy enemy targets. This once again demonstrates the experience and effectiveness of Ukrainian defense systems, which have already proven their ability to counter aggression in real time. At the same time, the region's residents felt the impact of this situation — from loud noise to temporary roadblocks and widespread panic. Ahead of this night, Ukrainian military and security services continually update their tactics and parameters to counter new challenges posed by the aggressor. Technical equipment and combat coordination allow for timely responses to enemy attempts to breach Ukrainian airspace and reduce potential damage. However, the situation remains tense, and all services reiterate their readiness to act at any moment to protect the population and critical infrastructure. This nocturnal clash once again underscores the urgent need to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and further develop defense systems. Russian "Shahed" drones and other UAVs remain some of the most dangerous tools of aggression, used to destabilize the region and intimidate the population. Ukrainian forces continue working to maintain peace and security, and citizens are urged to stay vigilant and follow official information.
