According to him, the incident took place on the morning of April 18 in a densely populated district of Kharkiv. The enemy missile deliberately destroyed one of the multi-storey residential complexes located in the central part of the city. Preliminary information suggests that people may be under the rubble, so rescue services are involved in quickly and effectively searching for and evacuating potential victims. The Kharkiv mayor emphasized that the consequences of the attack are unfortunate and require immediate action from the relevant services: "An enemy missile hit a densely populated area of the city. We are doing everything possible to quickly locate and rescue those who may be trapped under the debris. We are providing all necessary assistance and call on the population to follow safety rules and stay in safe places." This is yet another attack on Kharkiv since the start of the full-scale invasion by Russian forces, confirming the ongoing aggression and hostility of the enemy towards this strategic and vital region in eastern Ukraine.
