During the night, a new aggressive attack occurred in Sumy region — an unidentified “Shahad” drone hit a territory of one of the agricultural enterprises in the area
This is the second incident in recent weeks where the aggressors have used kamikaze drones to terrorize the civilian population and the agricultural sector of Sumy region. The event was reported by the Sumy district military administration through official statements on social media. According to Mikhail Melnyk, head of the Sumy RMA, the attack took place around 2 a.m., when the peaceful population was supposed to be resting. He stated that the military operation was quite precise — the drone deliberately hit one of the agricultural enterprises in the Sadivska community. As a result, a large fire broke out, which was quickly localized thanks to the prompt actions of firefighters. The district chief added that to avoid even more serious consequences, the fire was fully brought under control within a short period. It is worth noting that this attack did not cause any human casualties — no injuries or fatalities were recorded in the village. However, the equipment and an administrative building located on the enterprise’s territory suffered significant material damage. This once again confirms the danger posed by these unmanned aerial vehicles — they not only cause destruction but also create psychological pressure and threats to peaceful residents and farmers. The authorities of Sumy region continue to urge local residents to remain vigilant and follow all safety recommendations. Such attacks highlight the need to strengthen defensive measures and actively counteract the escalation of violence by the aggressor country. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the use of kamikaze drones in this region is constantly increasing, raising concerns about future attacks and the necessity for enhanced resistance by Ukrainian military and law enforcement agencies. Ukraine is actively working to strengthen its air defense systems in order to protect its citizens and traditional agriculture from such provocations. Meanwhile, local authorities once again called on residents to exercise caution and observe all safety protocols during this difficult period, as the war continues, and every opportunity to minimize risks is vital for the country’s survival and recovery.
