Zelensky emphasized that over 40% of the weapons at the front are produced in Ukraine

In his latest speech, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted significant achievements of Ukraine’s defense industry in the context of efforts to protect the country from Russian aggression. The head of state announced that more than one-quarter of all weapons currently used at the front are of Ukrainian origin and manufactured directly within the country. According to the President, this serves as a strong signal of the growth of internal capacity and Ukraine’s ability to independently ensure its defense. During a ceremonial event dedicated to the professional holiday of defense industry workers, held on the eve of Defender of the Armed Forces Day, Zelensky stated: “Today, I had the honor of awarding our colleagues and teams working in the defense industry for their tireless efforts. Over 40 percent of the weapons that currently support our defenders at the front are created right here in Ukraine. This is a bright confirmation that the Ukrainian defense industry is developing and expanding its capabilities.” He added that this trend is stable and will only grow: “We are looking forward to increased production of our own weapons, because it is crucial for us to guarantee the country’s security not only through external support but also through internal resources and capabilities. I believe that our manufacturers will do even more to provide our defenders with the latest weapons capable of withstanding any challenge.” Zelensky emphasized the strategic priorities: “Ukraine will always need its own strong weapons because they are the guarantee of independence and stability. We aim not only to equip our military with modern technology but also to develop technologies that the world has not yet seen. This will enable us to respond to any attack and to defend our territory and the democratic choice of the Ukrainian people.” The leader of the country pointed out that Ukraine’s independence and security directly depend on the country's ability to develop its own defense complex and technological potential: “We are on the path of independent production of weapons and systems because we understand that only in this way can we ensure the future of our state and stop the aggressor.” Thus, Zelensky’s statements emphasize the importance of domestic production for Ukraine’s long-term security and independence, and demonstrate confidence that, over time, the level of Ukraine’s defense industry will continue to grow, opening new opportunities for economic development and strengthening the country's defensive capacity.
