According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as of the morning of April 17, the number of those killed as a result of this aggression has risen to three, including an innocent child. This tragic news once again confirms the scale of danger faced by the city’s peaceful population due to Russian strikes. Reports from operational sources indicate that, on the eve of April 16, a massive drone attack took place in the city. Preliminary information suggests that the enemy launched several drones targeting residential areas, strategically important infrastructure facilities, and transportation means. As a result of this attack, at least 28 residents were injured, including four children. Unfortunately, this large-scale attack also resulted in human casualties. Updated information reports that three people have been killed, including a one-year-old child, providing undeniable proof of the brutality of this assault. Rescue services report that several dozen residents sustained injuries of varying severity and are currently under medical supervision. During the missile and drone attack, the Russians destroyed city infrastructure: some residential buildings were damaged; several dormitories in the student town were destroyed; premises of educational institutions and a food enterprise were ravaged. There was also damage to vehicles, which became witnesses to the ruthless attack. Rescue services responded quickly to the situation, and within a few hours, all fire outbreaks caused by the drone strikes were localized and extinguished. They recorded several fires in different parts of the city, which, according to reports, have already been contained. Fortunately, no additional casualties or serious injuries have been reported among local residents and emergency workers, offering hope for improved training and preparedness of rescuers for such complex situations. Currently, the residents of Dnipro are in a state of alarm and tension, as the enemy continues to threaten the city with new attacks. Local authorities and security services are working on strengthening air defense to prevent further destruction of housing and to protect the lives and health of citizens. This tragedy once again demonstrates how valuable and vulnerable the peaceful lives of Ukrainians are, and that war for them is not only a battlefield but also a daily struggle for survival amid constant danger. Ukraine continues to resist Russian aggression, united in its desire to protect its citizens and preserve the integrity of its cities and villages.
