According to operational data from Ukrainian military sources, over the past day the Armed Forces of Ukraine have achieved significant success in resisting Russian occupiers, destroying more than 1,030 enemy personnel and dozens of armored personnel carriers and combat vehicles

Overall, during the day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 1,230 opponents, as well as destroyed 54 units of weapons and military equipment, including combat armored vehicles. Since the beginning of the full-scale war on February 24, 2022, and as of April 17, 2025, Russian military forces have suffered substantial losses and are losing combat power at a continuously increasing rate. Over these more than two years, more than 937,000 Russian invaders have been officially accounted for as casualties, with an additional 1,230 killed just in the past day. This dynamic indicates a serious and systemic nature of Russian losses in this war. Regarding military equipment, Russian forces are also experiencing significant losses. In a single day, 16 tanks were destroyed, bringing the total number of tanks to 10,654 since the war began. Concerning combat armored vehicles, an additional 54 units have been lost, with a total of 22,217 such vehicles recorded since the conflict started. Artillery systems are another key area of destruction for the Russian army: 65 systems were destroyed in just one day, bringing the total to 26,442 since the beginning of the war. Equally important is the destruction of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS): in the past 24 hours, 2 units have been eliminated, expanding the total to 1,366 since the start of the conflict. Air defense systems also sustain losses: 3 air defense assets were destroyed in a single day, demonstrating a high level of casualties of such systems. Overall, throughout the war, Russia has lost more than 1,135 air defense systems. Another critical factor is the loss of operational-tactical level drones: 88 UAVs have been eliminated over the past day, bringing total losses to around 32,925. The losses of automotive equipment and tanker trucks are also very high — a total of 170 units were destroyed in a single day, bringing the overall number to over 44,000 since the start of the war. Among the destroyed equipment are also specialized vehicles — three more units were eliminated yesterday. Representatives of the General Staff confirm that all these figures are still being clarified and may be adjusted as additional information is gathered. The enemy’s losses reflect the high price of their offensive actions in their struggle against Ukraine’s defenders, which the occupiers describe as an objective reality of the war. Ukrainian military forces continue to hold the defensive line and inflict losses on the enemy — this process remains a key element of the ongoing confrontation in this war.
